Intersex Awareness Day is coming up on 26th October, a day that celebrates the intersex community and focuses on the advocacy for individual rights to bodily integrity, physical autonomy and self-determination. Get your free ticket for our On The Couch episode: Intersex, One Man’s Story with Paul Byrne-Moroney and check out the InterLink Resource Hub with a range of informative digital and physical resources.

Trans And Friends Festival Illawarra five year milestone is on Sunday 8th November at the University of Wollongong. The annual community festival run by the Illawarra Shoalhaven Gender Alliance (ISGA) celebrates trans, non-binary, and gender diverse people and allies through performance, storytelling and social events. Caddyshack Project will be there joining in the fun, so pop by and say hi!

We are excited to invite nominations to recognise outstanding contributions to advancing sexual health and wellbeing through innovative education, advocacy, and community engagement.

Whether it's a passionate educator, a ground-breaking service, or an inspiring advocate, these awards honour those who are creating safer, healthier communities through their dedication and impact.

Why nominate? Celebrate leadership & innovation in sexual health, inspire others in the field, elevate the visibility of important work that often goes unrecognised. It only takes a few minutes to recognise someone’s incredible work.

Nominations are now open across three categories, plus a Social Media category selected through engagement data

Individual: recognises the achievement by an individual working to promote sexual health, sexuality, and wellbeing

Project: recognises an outstanding project designed and implemented by an individual or a service in improving the sexual health and wellbeing of individuals or communities

Service/Organisation: recognises whole-of-organisation responses in working to promote sexual health

Do you work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people? Are you a youth worker, nurse, educator or support service?

“We don’t need fancy talk. We want tips we can actually use with our kids, and the words to say when we don’t know how to start.”

Yarning Quiet Ways is an Aboriginal specific resource designed to help adults engage in conversations with children and young people about all things bodies, relationships and sexual health in a way that is grounded in culture. It has conversation tops, accurate and age-appropriate content, and resources to access further information.

You are invited to attend the official online launch of the NSW version of Yarning Quiet Ways.

Wednesday 14th October 11am - 12noon AEDT

The 1-hour webinar will introduce and run through the basics of the resource, link you with Aboriginal sexual health staff and answer any questions you may have.

Hear about the diversity of the intersex community, the discrimination faced and the education needed to urgently break misconceptions, stigmas and barriers to care.

Paul is a radio producer, broadcaster, founder and co-host of The I in Us podcast on JOY94.9 Australia’s only intersex community radio show.
